This workshop covers the Evolution and Inheritance KS2 topic. Also ideal for KS3+. Examine an extensive collection of fossil specimens through 8 different prehistoric time periods to discover how life on earth changed through the millennia. Record and interpret your findings, and see the evidence for evolution in front of your very eyes. Meet your ancestors, and some other weird and wonderful prehistoric creatures, and tell the story of life on earth, and how it changed, over the last Billion years or so.

Get hands-on with rocks and fossils, soils, and geological equipment in this workshop. Examine, compare and group a wide variety of specimens. Investigate the properties of rocks, and their uses in our everyday lives or their role in the rock cycle. Learn how fossils get inside rocks, and what they can tell us about prehistoric life. We can also examine thin-sections of rocks under the microscope, rock-forming minerals, and weathering of rocks.

Our Choices and Consequences workshops educate young people about knife crime and how to make positive choices to stay safe. Children will learn about the impact of knife crime, choice and consequences, how to make safe decisions and good friends, the realities of prison life and the law and how it is applied to knife crime cases. Children take part in role plays, discussions, quizzes and learn about the dangers of knife crime in a creative and educational space.

Withy and Paper Sculpting: This versatile technique can be used to build large and very colourful three dimensional artwork. designs. Children can work easily with the materials to design individual pieces or work collaboratively on larger sculptures. This technique is fantastic for creating impressive sculptural installations, animals, carnival costumes and 3D screens. Large pieces can be built quickly to transform internal spaces, create scenery or provide a focus for a special event.

The workshop uses practical comedy and improvisation exercises (solo/group), games and role plays - interweaved with small sections of motivational presentation and peer discussion/feedback, to build students' understanding of employability, soft skills (primarily interpersonal skills), the power of thinking of their lives as a story to be written (for HE/job applications) and learning through failure.

Mini First Aid Kids is designed for children aged 7-11. In the 1-hour session, Children learn to deal with bumps, burns, breaks and bleeding, carry out CPR and deal with choking. The class is practical, lots of fun and involves lots of activities for the children to enjoy. A favourite with schools and voluntary groups.

Science Magician Dr Matt Pritchard is a Curator of Wonder. His shows bring gasps of amazement, thought provoking ideas and memorable STEM teaching.
