School Trip Activities Summary:

Located within Liverpool's historic Albert Dock, The Beatles Story is a unique visitor attraction that transports you on an enlightening and atmospheric journey into the life, times, culture and music of The Beatles.
The Beatles Story has continued to develop our learning resources to create a fun and educational experience for all. Our commitment to life-long learning ensures every guest has a valuable experience, whatever their age or ability.
Our hands-on, interactive Discovery Zone is designed to stimulate and inspire students, giving them the tools and opportunity to learn and develop their own skills in a creative environment on an individual, small group or class size basis.
We have linked the story of The Beatles, their early lives, their fame and combined creativity to selected areas of the National Curriculum: history, English, art and music to actively encourage and involve children in their own learning. Whether your school follows established schemes of work or is working towards a creative approach to the curriculum the Discovery Zone can support learners in developing skills in communication and group work, information technology, inquiry and creative thinking.
Some examples of our hands-on activities include:
The giant interactive piano where you can compose your own music or recreate Beatles songs
The recreation of NEMs record store where you can play real life records on record players and learn about how music was created and played in the 60s
The art zone where you can learn about art in the 1960s and create your own Beatles themed art
The brand new recreation of the cavern fitted with a drum kit, guitars, 1960s microphones and a karaoke filled with Beatles hits to jam along to

Finally, KS3, KS4, KS5 pupils are always welcome at The Beatles Story to complete an audio tour of the exhibition and are invited to end their visit with one of our personalised Sgt Pepper lectures which are planned around the schools preferences with what they want to gain from their visit.

Testimonials & Accreditation Awards:

"Thank you for a lovely time in the Discovery Zone, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The activities were planned really well and with relevance to the curriculum, perfect for our year 5 History project. I think from a staff point of view, yours is the friendliest museum I have ever visited. Hopefully we will visit again next year."
—Stephanie Bailey, Teacher, Highfields Primary School

"We all had a marvellous time at The Beatles Story, and would like to thank you and your staff for making it such a fun experience. Everything went swimmingly, including the sunny weather, which made our trip on the Razzle Dazzle ferry especially memorable. The children also loved the 4D film to finish their wonderful day out."
—Suzie Eagar, Teacher, Cransley School
