Workshop Summary:

Bring history to life! Transport students back to the global turbulence of WWII, or the infamous trenches of WWI. The grim realities of both wars are suggested but never explicitly depicted - making both 360° immersive films suitable for upper KS2 and older.

The presenter-led component includes travelling back in time with the planetarium to see what was in the night sky during The Battle of Britain (WWII), the Battle of Verdun (WWI), or any other event, from any location or British city of your choice. Such personalised 'time travel' adds an extra dimension of realism and understanding to pupils' appreciation of these events.

World 2 War (1939-1945) - Place your students right at the centre of one of the most momentous periods of history with this unforgettable digital dome overview of World WarII (available as a full-length 42min version or condensed 29min version). A historically accurate immersive film combining cinematically re-created political events & battle scenes with original film and photographic references. Trailer below and full preview on our website.

The Trench (1914-1918) - Transport your pupils back 100 years in the digital dome with this 24min re-enactment of life in the notorious WWI trenches. A British army private and an officer describe their respective experiences in the trenches, as well as the course and outcome of WWI. Powerful sound effects and music by Wagner, Ravel and Holst add to the atmosphere of the drama. Trailer and full preview on our website.

Additional Information:

We can accommodate up to 70 primary school students (+ 4 adults), or up to 45 secondary school pupils (+ 4 adults) at a time. You have the choice of booking a 4m, 5m, 6m or 7m digital dome, for either half a day, full day or split across lunch; and we will happily squeeze in as many performances as you wish in the time allocated.

Testimonials:

"We learned in the introduction about the planets visible in the sky above Newport on the nights of the bombings. This was new information we've never taught before as part of our topic. The children were fully engaged and excited. Mario was very knowledgable and calming throughout what can be a sensitive topic. Highly recommended!"

- St Julian's Primary, Newport, Jan 2024

"Thank you for such a wonderful experience! It was the highlight of the children's WW2 Day. The children found the video to be extremely informative and described it as a 3D movie experience"

- Reigate Priory Junior School, Surrey, Nov 2023

"The content & delivery was very good. The WWII film deepened the children's understanding as it brought to life many of the facts / events we have looked at this term"
