Workshop Summary:
We bring history to life, using virtual reality to discover the ancient world and providing hands-on practical activities where children can handle artefacts and learn ancient skills. Our workshops are truly immersive.
Use our Virtual Reality headsets to explore the sites of ancient Egypt including the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple, The tomb of Rameses VI and more.
Use Augmented Reality to look at 3D models of Nefertiti and a Sarcophagus.
Learn about the chronology and the impact of geography on ancient Egypt.
Try traditional methods of writing hieroglyphs, using reed pens and authentically made inks.
Take part in an artefact handling session, try using the Egyptian art canon of proportion to draw a pharaoh, build a stepped pyramid and handle a variety of replica artefacts.
Play some traditional Egyptian games and learn about the importance of games to Egyptian adults and children alike.
Participate in the mummification rituals, mummify your friend and explore what was inside the embalmer’s toolkit.
