CPD/INSET Course Summary: Animate Arts Company is an award-winning participatory arts company founded in 2002 by Artistic Director, Jo Dyer, who also delivers many of our art CPDs for teachers. We have vast experience in boosting teachers' confidence and art skills with practical sessions which ensure teachers can take the learning straight back to the classroom.
Art CPDs for Teachers offered by Animate Arts:
- Drawing in the classroom: a practical workshop with a visual artist who champions the valuable skills of co-ordination, concentration, analysis and communication through the act of drawing. This friendly session is perfect for those who feel under-confident to bring drawing into lessons.
- Learn to Print: discover different printing techniques including collagraph printing, stamping, carving and monoprinting. We will show you many amazing ways to create high-quality artworks with everyday low-cost materials. printing is a wonderful versatile art form for the classroom.
- Recreating Art Masterpieces: this is an unusual and incredibly fun art CPD in which teachers learn how to look at painting masterpieces and recreate them, using any costumes and props available! A great way of teaching children how to study the old masters and come to appreciate them.
- 3D Sculpture: bring environmental and recycling themes into the classroom as your teachers discover amazing ways to build and make using everyday, easily recyclable materials. We specialise in working in paper and cardboard and can show you how to make almost anything in these mediums!
- Working in Clay: learn the basic skills and techniques of working with air drying clay. This popular CPD will give teachers all sorts of practical ideas to take back into the classroom.
- Making Displays to transform your classroom into inspiring environments on a budget. A brilliant, insightful session full of low-cost, high-impact ideas aimed at inspiring teachers to use-up old materials from stock and bring a new look to your school.
- Diversity in Art - a fascinating session about a range of notable black, Asian and culturally diverse British artists from the last 60 years. Who they are, what inspired them, and why they are relevant today. This session is a mixture of art history, open discussion and hands-on activities to gain plenty of cross-curricula ideas.

Additional Information: Artist's fee including delivery and planning: c. £400 - £450
Return travel to and from your school is charged at HMRC rate of 0.45p per mile
Animate Arts booking fee includes all administration, DBS and insurance: £75 per booking
