CPD/INSET Course Summary:

A workshop run by professional actor/comedians which the aim of helping teachers, SEN staff and leadership teams to develop their storytelling, comedy and improvisation techniques, to develop stronger engagement with their learners, and more emotional anecdotal-led teaching. Wider objectives are to develop an awareness of audience, problem solving, reframing failure, and youth employability, via interactive exercises used by the performers on a weekly basis, for auditions, jobs and wider adaptability in their 21st century portfolio career. Ideally, we run a final showcase led by the Push comedians, interweaved with 2-5 minutes of material (comedy / story) from each workshop attendee. We also form a follow up summary of the key messages, exercises used, and wider useful links, to circulate after the staff digitally (or have as a printed resource on the day).

Additional Information:

Prices are all-inclusive and cover the Push comedians' fees (2 comedians minimum per workshop) and include all expenses (public transport/petrol, accommodation, sustenance), worksheets, workshop materials and prep/consultation time to shape the workshop according to the needs of each individual school or college, and the staff attending.

Push are a non-profit social initiative run by professional creatives (actors, comedians, writers), and have existed for nearly 30 years to support less-advantaged students and parents - via interactive presentations and workshops (in-person and online). Our mission is to help schools and colleges support their learners: to make informed proactive choices led by the learner, and develop their understanding of employability and effective growth-mindset learning.
